Case study: Global Resource Recovery
Global Resource Recovery (GRR) is leveraging Carbon Central's digital twin technology to create a detailed, real-time monitoring system for its recycling processes. This includes the use of digital twins for each recycling stage, integrating key data sources, and configuring a batch management system to enhance transparency and traceability.
The Carbon Central platform uses the Hedera Guardian to automate the issuance of digital certificates and tokens on the Hedera network. These verifiable records provide a secure and immutable Guarantee of Origin for each batch of recycled chemicals. The process is aligned with the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus certification scheme to demonstrate reduced environmental impact including carbon footprint reduction, waste reduction, and resource conservation.
By adopting Carbon Central's capabilities, GRR has strengthened its ability to track recycling operations, ensure the authenticity of its recycled products, and deliver reliable Guarantee of Origin to create Sustainability Declaration certificates. This improves operational efficiency and reinforces GRR’s commitment to sustainability, offering greater confidence to its customers and stakeholders.
Case study: Clean Hydrogen Technologies
Clean Hydrogen Technologies (CHT) is partnering with NoviqTech to implement a tracking system that tokenises the Guarantee of Origin for each batch of turquoise hydrogen, produced using methane pyrolysis while capturing solid carbon to create carbon-based products. The system integrates real-time monitoring to capture production data.
The Hedera Guardian is used to align data inputs with the ISCC Plus method. The Guardian facilitates the automated issuance of digital certificates and tokens on the Hedera network, providing secure and immutable records for each batch. This approach ensures that the hydrogen's source and environmental impact are verified in accordance with rigorous sustainability requirements.
The collaboration with NoviqTech enables CHT to offer a reliable Guarantee of Origin, reinforcing the transparency and accountability of its hydrogen production. By tokenizing the production, CHT enhances the credibility of its sustainability claims, supporting global clean energy objectives and advancing the hydrogen economy.
Case study: TROEF
The TROEF consortium partnered with NoviqTech to elevate energy management by integrating the Carbon Central platform. This initiative created a transparent, auditable, and scalable system for real-time monitoring of energy production and consumption, leveraging blockchain to ensure data integrity and trust.
In phase 1 of this project, NoviqTech established a robust system for generating and managing CO2 certificates on the blockchain. Key tools included a CO2 Factor Calculator for measuring carbon footprints and use of the Hedera Guardian to manage tokenisation and creation of digital certificates securely stored on the Hedera network.
In the second phase, NoviqTech enhanced the system by aligning tokenisation with the EnergyTag standard, and integrating with ENTRNCE’s Trader Platform. NoviqTech ensures data integrity and trust, providing a secure and transparent method for transferring ownership within the platform. This integration not only strengthens the reliability of peer-to-peer transactions but also adds a robust layer of security and accountability to the trading process within TROEF.
Through these phases, NoviqTech has boosted TROEF’s transparency and efficiency in energy management, reducing costs and accelerating progress toward the Netherlands' net-zero carbon goals, while setting a model for sustainable energy management.
